  • Melbourne-made e-POWER and EV components exported internationally

18/05/2026 – Melbourne: Nissan is celebrating the skilled team behind its Nissan Casting Australia Plant (NCAP) as part of Australian Made Week 2026, recognising more than four decades of local manufacturing excellence in Victoria.

Established in 1982 in Dandenong South, the Nissan Casting Australia Plant is home to more than 192 staff and contractors who collectively produce 1.2 million die-cast aluminium parts and towbars annually for domestic and international markets.

Today, components produced at NCAP support Nissan vehicles sold globally, including advanced e‑POWER hybrid and electric vehicle technologies. As the sole global site responsible for manufacturing core components for Nissan’s latest 5‑in‑1 e‑POWER system, NCAP further underscores the ongoing importance of Australian manufacturing within Nissan’s global operations

Components made locally by NCAP are proudly part of journeys around the world. NCAP produces components for the following current and superseded Nissan and INFINITI models, both to support on-going mass production and for use in service parts for models that have been discontinued:

  • Nissan Qashqai (The latest 5-in-1 e-POWER hybrid system)

  • Nissan LEAF (3-in-1 components used within the driveline)

  • Nissan Navara

  • Nissan Serena

  • Nissan Patrol (including North American Armada)

  • Nissan X-Trail (including North American Rogue)

  • Nissan Pathfinder

  • Nissan Kicks

  • Nissan Note

  • Nissan Murano

  • Nissan Skyline

  • Nissan Titan

  • Nissan Fuga

  • Nissan Civilian (bus)

  • INFINITI QX80

  • INFINITI QX60

  • INFINITI QX50

While NCAP officially achieved Australian Made certification in 2025, the plant’s Australian identity has long been embedded in every component produced onsite. For decades, many parts manufactured at the facility have proudly carried a raised kangaroo motif — a subtle but enduring symbol of Australian craftsmanship exported around the globe.

Steve Milette, Nissan Oceania Managing Director, said: “Innovation doesn’t just happen overseas — the Nissan Casting Australia Plant demonstrates the depth of manufacturing expertise, skill and capability we have right here in Australia.

“For 44 years, the team at NCAP has produced world-class components that support Nissan vehicles driven around the globe. Australian Made Week is an opportunity to recognise the pride, precision and dedication of the people behind that success story.

“The kangaroo motif proudly cast into many of the components over the years may be small, but it represents something much bigger — Australian craftsmanship contributing to global mobility every day.”
