17/09/2026, MELBOURNE: Nissan Australia today reveals further details of the all-new Nissan Patrol, with notable gains in passenger space, cargo capacity and towing capability reinforcing its credentials as a true, full-sized family SUV designed for Australian conditions. 

The all-new Patrol delivers more space and comfort across all three rows, increased cargo capacity of up to 2,749 litres* and a 3,700kg braked towing capacity^‡ across the range.

Designed to meet the needs of Australian families, the all-new Patrol combines a more spacious and configurable interior with increased cargo capacity and a higher braked towing capacity, while introducing new features that make everyday use more comfortable and convenient.

More space and comfort across all three rows

Nissan engineers placed a strong emphasis on interior packaging when developing the all-new Patrol, ensuring passengers across all three rows benefit from improvements in space, comfort and usability.

For front-row occupants, the all-new Patrol introduces a new ‘Zero Gravity’ seat structure with high-damping foam designed to reduce uncomfortable vibrations over rough and corrugated roads.

All grades benefit from improvements to hip, shoulder and legroom, together with a higher driver eyeline, contributing to a more comfortable and commanding driving position.

Front-seat comfort is further enhanced by the availability of seat massage, offered exclusively for the driver on Ti-L+ and expanded to both the driver and front passenger on Ti-L Reserve.

Second-row passengers benefit from the same Zero Gravity seat structure, alongside a new second-row seat slide function that provides greater flexibility when balancing passenger and cargo requirements.

With the second-row seat slide in the rearmost position, passengers can enjoy up to 250mm more leg space than in the outgoing Y62 Patrol, providing a significant improvement for passengers who value rear-seat space.

Second -row passengers will also note improvements in hip and shoulder room, further enhancing comfort, particularly during long-distance travel.

A more accommodating third row

Nissan has also focused on making the Patrol's third row more practical and comfortable for adults and families.

A new, smart tilt and glide second-row seat function replaces the outgoing model's mechanical tumble-seat arrangement, making access to the third row easier even when the second row has a child seat in place.

A wider sidestep on all grades provides additional foot space to make entering and exiting the third row easier.

Once seated, third-row passengers benefit from:

• 75mm more hip room
• 66mm more knee room
• Up to 253mm more legroom when the second-row seat is moved to its forward-most position
• 84mm more heel gap for outboard occupants, creating a more natural and comfortable seating position, aided also by the adoption of a flatter third-row floor (compared to Y62 Patrol).

The result is a third row designed to be substantially more accommodating for three passengers, rather than simply being an occasional seating solution.

On the Ti-L Reserve grade, quilting extends to the upper section of the third-row seat, ensuring even those riding in the rear-most seats, enjoy not only more space, but greater levels of style than ever.

More room for cargo and easier loading

The all-new Patrol increases cargo-carrying capacity compared with the outgoing Y62 Patrol, offering 577 litres of space behind the third row when all three rows are in use. Fold the third row and capacity increases to 1,594 litres, rising to a cavernous 2,749 litres with both the second and third rows folded.*

That's an increase of 110 litres, 181 litres and 127 litres respectively over the outgoing Y62 Patrol, providing additional capacity for family holidays, sporting equipment, luggage and other bulky items.

Nissan engineers spent considerable time and effort ensuring that the folded second and third-row seat configuration also creates a near-flat cargo floor, making it easier to load and organise larger items.

Loading and unloading is further enhanced on PRO-4X and Ti-L Reserve grades through the inclusion of adaptive air suspension, which allows the vehicle to be lowered to improve access to the cargo area.

3,700kg towing capacity across the range^‡

The all-new Patrol also increases its towing capability, with all grades offering a braked towing capacity of up to 3,700kg^‡ — a 200kg increase over the outgoing Y62 Patrol.

Customers can choose from a range of tow tongue and tow ball configurations available as an at-cost accessory, including a configuration supporting the Patrol's full 3,700kg braked towing capacity.^‡

For the first time, all Patrol grades feature Trailer Blind Spot Warning in addition to Trailer Sway Control, providing added confidence when towing.

On PRO-4X and Ti-L Reserve grades, ‘Trailer Docking Support’ makes connecting a trailer easier by helping the driver align the vehicle's tow bar with the trailer coupling, reducing the need to repeatedly exit the vehicle to check positioning. Both PRO-4X and Ti-L Reserve include electric trailer brake controller as standard equipment.

The all-new Nissan Patrol combines these improvements in space and versatility with its new powertrain, advanced technology and considerably more refined design, further strengthening its position as Nissan's flagship SUV. The first Australian customer deliveries are scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
