Put your best foot forward by familiarising yourself with our top interview tips.
Be yourself
Speak clearly and enthusiastically about your experiences and skills. Be professional, but don't be afraid to let your personality shine through.
Address the job criteria
Nervous energy is good but not if you come to the job interview unprepared. It's to your advantage to carefully research the job and Nissan. Information about Nissan can be found on our website or alternatively through your contact person at Nissan.
Come Prepared
Know yourself - your strengths, weaknesses and accomplishments. A job interview is not the time to wing it! At Nissan our selection process combines behavioral interviewing techniques (first round interviews) with sometimes workplace assessments simulating realistic workplace situations (second round interviews). Your contact person will be able to answer any questions you have about the interview process prior to attending an interview with Nissan.
Dress Code
At Nissan the dress code varies from business casual to formal business attire in Head Office through to clothing that meets OHS regulations in our Warehousing and Casting Plant facilities. Ask your contact person if you are unsure of what would be appropriate attire for your interview.
Listen Carefully
Listen carefully to the questions and if you don't understand a question, or did not hear it properly, ask for clarifiction. You are welcome to take your time before answering the questions.
Provide Examples/Details
Support statements about yourself with specific examples. For example, when preparing for the interview, think about specific situations you have been in, what was your role in that situation and how you resolved the issue/what was the outcome. Being able to discuss in detail will provide legitimacy and context to your claims and will enable us to make the decision as to why we should give you the job over all other applicants.
Provide concise responses
Communication is the key to successful interviewing. Keeping your responses short will enable the interviewer to gain insight into your intellect whilst enabling you to cover a number of your key strengths within the interview timeframe, leaving plenty of time for your questions at the end of the interview.
Ask Questions
If you have questions regarding the process, job or Nissan in general don't be afraid to ask. At Nissan the interview is a two way process and we are interested in answering any questions you may have.
