Pricing includes an increased 33% (was 25%) Luxury Car Tax ("LCT").
The 350Z is sure to deflate a few European egos. In a straight power comparison, it has 22% more grunt than a Porsche Boxster, 20% more than an Audi TT and 15% more than a BMW Z4. It also boasts a new, VQ35HR engine, sleeker design, dual intake system, variable valve timing system and much more.
Use the tabs above to discover more.
VQ35HR Engine
Built upon one of the world's most recognised and respected engines - with added power, response and refinement.
Boasts 230kW and a 7,500 rpm redline.
0 -100 kmh in 5.7 seconds.
Continuously Variable Valve Timing
Off the line, a massive high-flow manifold and highly intelligent ECU manages tremendous air consumption for enormous amounts of low-end torque.
As velocity is quickly found, the ECU and manifold alter the flow path for optimum consumption.
Valve timing is continuously varied, to make the most of the zero to 100 blur.
Friction and Weight Reduction
Micro-finishing makes the 350Z engine a power plant of epic proportions.
Lesser friction means engine components spin up to speed, faster.
The crankshaft, camshafts and every surface that counts has been microscopically finished and finely polished.
Exhaust System
Large-diameter, high-flow exhaust system finished with a high-capacity dual-outlet muffler.
Incorporates all the advantages of dual exhaust, while greatly reducing weight and improving undercarriage aerodynamics.
Tuned for a wonderfully soft, burbling exhaust note.
Lighter than a similar driveshaft made from steel, the weight-reduction translates to considerable performance.
6-speed Close-ratio Manual*
Sports, six-speed stick has an incredibly short and quick throw between well-defined gates.
Connected to a transmission set up for close-ratio gearing from first to fifth.
Tall, overdrive sixth gear.
*Not available on Roadster Touring.
5-speed Automatic with Manual Mode*
Smooth ease and performance of a 5-speed, Automatic Transmission.
Includes an option for Manual Mode to drive hard, your way, when you feel the inclination.
*Available on Touring models only.
Aluminium Suspension
Added confidence assured through three front suspension links, and four in the rear - as well as ripple control shocks, and a separated rear shock and spring.
Multi-link design promotes camber change - whether cornering, braking or battling a stretch of abused asphalt - ensuring the wheels remain flat on the road.
Reduced weight enables faster reactions.
Ripple control shocks and vibrations are minimised for a smoother ride and better input of the road through the steering wheel.
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)*
Instantly senses when the car is losing its intended line of trajectory and defines what needs to happen to help remedy the problem.
In the case of trouble, reduces engine torque to specific wheels and applies brakes as necessary.
To find out more about VDC, watch this video (54k). This feature requires the Flash plug-in. If you don't have Flash, click here to download it.
*Available on Track models only. VDC is designed to help improve driving stability, but does not prevent accidents due to abrupt steering or by carelessness or dangerous driving techniques. Always drive safely.
TCS (Traction Control System)
Traction control system limits tyre slip for safer driving.
When the system senses one wheel is spinning faster than the others, it automatically pumps that wheel's brake to reduce speed and lessen slip.
Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD)
Adjusts the brakeforce distribution when there is additional weight in the rear of the car, such as cargo or a full tank of gas.
Provides better composure of the vehicle while braking.
To find out more about EBD, watch this video (44k). This feature requires the Flash plug-in. If you don't have Flash, click here to download it.
Limited-slip Rear Differential
Distributes power to the rear wheel with the most traction.
Helps the car maintain composure and directional stability during hard cornering.
Braking System (Touring)*
Massive 320mm front rotors cooled through a race car-styled air-cooling system.
Reduces fade and assures smooth, predictable and efficient braking.
*Available on Touring models only.
Brembo Braking System (Track)*
Front Rotors measure 324mm (over a foot in diameter) coupled with liquid-smooth, four-piston callipers.
Everything is kept cool by a Brembo air management system - the same type that racecar drivers count on.
*Available on Track models only.
