The new X-TRAIL is packed with state of the art safety features so you can enjoy permanent peace of mind. Superior control and traction is achieved through Nissan's Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP). You'll also find 6 standard SRS airbags, ventilated disc brakes and halogen headlights.
Electronic Stability Program (ESP)*
- Instantly helps stabilise the vehicle if it's skidding out of control.
- In the case of trouble, the system applies braking force to individual wheels so it can straighten the direction of the vehicle and assist the driver to bring the vehicle back under control.
* Also known as Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
- Helps you retain directional control while braking.
- Optimises braking performance by sensing wheel lock and sending a signal to the braking system to release the locked wheel. As the wheel unlocks, it can be steered.
- Individually applies and releases the brakes to help provide optimum stopping and control under challenging braking situations.
Brake Assist (BA) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
- The X-TRAIL utilises a brake booster with an inbuilt two step system that is called Brake Assist (BA).
- Applies additional stopping power in hard braking situations.
