The Nissan Patrol has reached legendary status. If there is dust flying, a river flooding or mud from here to the horizon, you're probably going to find the legendary Nissan Patrol in the middle of it. For nearly half a century, it has proved time and time again that it has the toughness, integrity and reliability to withstand Australian conditions.
In 1962, the Patrol performed its first legendary act as the first vehicle to successfully cross the Simpson Desert. Today, the Patrol continues its legendary status. It continues to have the power to shift you and your gear from one corner of the country to the other, and the toughness to bring you back in one piece. Tough, rugged and powerful. They're the hallmarks of the Nissan Patrol.
Contemporary Interior
Whilst Patrol's exterior is tough enough to withstand Australia's toughest terrain, on the inside it offers an impressive range of creature comforts. (Ti model shown).
Plenty of room to move
All Patrol models can comfortably seat five adults – with huge amounts of head, leg and shoulder room. The ST and Ti models have the ability to seat up to seven adult passengers with the flexibility of a side-folding third row seat. (Ti model shown).
See clearly
You’ll always have a commanding view of the track ahead – with large windows and height adjustable seats*. Large rear view and power door mirrors also improve rear visibility.
*Height adjustable seats not available in the DX model.
Drive comfortably
If our experience in the bush has taught us anything, it's how to optimise comfort and reduce driver fatigue over long distances. All Patrol models (excluding DX) provide seat height and lumbar support adjustment to suit your own driving style. The Ti models also has a 4-way electric seat control for the driver and 2-way control for the front seat passenger. (Ti model shown).
Style and refinement
All Patrol ST models have moquette trim, and the Ti models offers leather trim in jet black. Plus, you‘ll find fold away seat-back tables, rear air-conditioning (excluding DX) and adjustable driver and front passenger seats. For the ultimate outback touring, all Ti models also have wood-grain finish, cruise control, a 7" touch screen display with Satellite Navigation and steering wheel mounted controls, a rear view camera, electric tilt and slide sunroof and side impact airbags. (Ti model shown).
Storage
Inside your Patrol there’s room for all your luggage and valuables. The doors have large pockets with map holders and bottle storage. The large central console has separate practical compartments, and there’s even an overhead folder for your sunglasses. Plus, all models have a split-folding middle row seats, and the ST and Ti feature rear seats which fold sideways to allow greater cargo carrying capacity. (Ti model shown).
Satellite Navigation
Inside every Patrol Ti model, you'll find a handy Satellite Navigation system. It features a 7" integrated colour display with touch screen, which puts the following at your command: Satellite Navigation with 3D Mapping and SUNA GPS Traffic Updates™. With coverage Australia-wide, on or off-road, it's perfect for helping you venture bravely into the unknown territory.
SUNA GPS Traffic Updates™ is available when navigating roads in most metropolitan cities.
SUNA GPS Traffic Updates™
SUNA GPS Traffic Updates™ are a real time constant feed of traffic information sent to your Satellite Navigation system. If the Satellite Navigation system is notified of a traffic accident around your route, such as a traffic jam or road works, the system will automatically recalculate the route to avoid the incident.
SUNA GPS Traffic Updates™ is available when navigating roads in most metropolitan cities.
iPod connectivity
Connect either your iPod or your USB storage device to your USB port and control the device from your colour touch screen display. You can also plug in any USB device into the USB input and play music stored on this device through the vehicle's speakers.
Bluetooth®
All Patrol models feature a Bluetooth® handsfree phone system, which allows your mobile phone to be connected to your Patrol via a Bluetooth® connection. When a call comes in, the audio is muted and a call can be answered or ended with a touch of a button. (Ti model shown).
Bluetooth® audio
Play your favourite music from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone or device via Bluetooth® audio on Ti petrol and diesel models.
Audio
No matter which Patrol you choose, you can enjoy your favourite music or radio station with a single CD player with AM/FM radio and 2 speakers in the Patrol DX. In the ST models you will find a 6-stack in dash CD player with AM/FM radio and 4 speakers. The Ti models offer even more with 6 speakers and a single CD player within colour display, MP3 compatability and AM/FM radio. (Ti model shown).
Cruise control
Set your desired speed and let your cruise control take care of it, keeping you at constant speed, as you travel to your destination. Of course, you can slightly accelerate at a touch of a button. (Ti model shown).
Versatile interior
The Patrol offers a truly flexible and versatile interior, and depending on the model, offers split-folding middle seats (all models) and side-folding third row seats (except DX model). Change the seating to suit your passengers or luggage - the choice is yours.
Climate control
Wherever you're touring, the ST and Ti Patrol models feature rear air-conditioning to keep all your passengers cool on warm days. Plus, no matter what the temperature is outside as you travel to your desitination, if you choose a Ti Patrol, you will be able to set the temperature with climate control air-conditioning. (Ti model shown).
Compass
To help you navigate even the most remote areas, the Patrol Ti (petrol only) comes with a compass to help navigate you to your destination. Complete with an outside temperature gauge, the Patrol will not only get you to your destination but also help return you safely home.
Unmistakeably Nissan, Unmistakeably Patrol
The Nissan Patrol is an icon amongst 4WDs and its design enhances its status as a legendary 4WD. On the outside, it’s hard to ignore the sense of purposeful and legendary design. It encapsulates Nissan’s global 4x4 design revolution to give the Patrol a powerful, big, tough and supremely capable look.
Range of colours
Choose a colour that reflects your unique style. The ST and Ti Patrol comes in five appealing and contemporary colours available. These colours complement the Patrol's bold styling, which features body coloured bumpers and over-fender flares on all models (excluding DX).
Sunroof
In the Ti, you’ll find a large electric glass sunroof which tilts and slides open to give you more natural light, fresh air and an even better view of this great land.
Wheels
The ST and Ti Patrol feature 17 inch alloy wheels with 275/65R17 tyres to complement Patrol's tough look. For those requiring a true workhorse application, the DX model features 5.50F 16 split rims on manual models and 6JJ16 spoked steel wheels with 235/80R16 tyres on auto models. There is also the option on DX models to choose 8JJ16 spoked steel wheels with 265/70R16 tyres.

Halogen headlights
Powerful halogen headlamps feature high power and wide illumination, which provides excellent visibility at night or in poor weather.
Fog lights
To increase your visibility, no matter where your adventure takes you, the Patrol now features fog lights as standard (except DX model). Fully integrated into the colour coded front bumpers, these great-looking fog lights add further practicality to the legendary Patrol.
Chrome power mirrors
Large side-view chrome power door mirrors (excluding DX) give you a wider field of vision - and the extra confidence you need whether you're manoeuvring in and out of tight spots, or when reversing with the boat.
The Power To Go Anywhere...And Do Anything!
Tough, rugged and powerful. They're the hallmarks of the Nissan Patrol. And they can be delivered through a choice of high performance petrol engines or models sporting the common-rail turbo diesel engine.
Legendary power
The 4.8 litre petrol engine pumps out an impressive 180kW, giving you all the power you’re ever likely to need. And it offers a massive 3,500kg braked towing capacity. It’s also available with a refined, yet gutsy, 3.0 litre common-rail intercooled turbo diesel engine which delivers 118kW. This diesel engine delivers the fuel economy benefits that diesel engines can provide, yet provides you the responsiveness you’d expect from a petrol engine. The common rail system also helps to significantly reduce the noise and vibration to offer a quieter, more comfortable ride whilst giving you gutsy power to help you on your journey.
Best of both worlds
Petrol Patrol models feature a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode to offer you the freedom to drive your way. When you're on the highway, 'Auto' mode provides effortless cruising. Then, when you turn off-road, switch to 'Manual-shift', and take advantage of the Patrol's gutsy power and performance. Should you choose a diesel Patrol, you have the option of a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual to give gutsy performance. (Ti model shown).
Cruise control
Every Patrol comes with cruise control, so you can relax on the open road and slightly accelerate, if required (Ti model shown).
Switch between 4x2 and 4x4
Patrol lets you choose between 2WD for normal cruising and 4WD for more rugged terrain. On all models excluding the DX, locking front hubs engage automatically to 4WD. A dual range transfer gearbox also means you can switch from high to low ratios for extra tricky terrain. And for even greater traction, a limited slip differential is also standard on all models.
Built for strength
One of the key reasons behind the Patrol's legendary driveability is its outstanding stability and control. This is possible due to a sturdy separate ladder chassis - engineered for stability during high speed cruising and on rough terrain, and a stabiliser bar that lends control even when you’re cornering.
Stay on track
No matter where you and your Patrol end up, the Patrol will give you the assurance no matter what terrain you cross with sharp, responsive handling and steering that responds to your every command.
Keep something in reserve
All Patrol models offer the convenience of a 95 litre fuel tank. However, the turbo diesel models also feature a sub tank, with a reserve of 30 litres. This feature will ensure you spend even more time in the great outdoors.
A Heritage Of Advancing Safety
The legend of Patrol's almost 'bulletproof indestructibility' has been inspired by the ruggedness of its immensely strong separate ladder chassis, all-steel body with extended and reinforced crumple zones, and steel anti-intrusion bars. Stability, handling and Nissan's off-road nouse are evident in the way advanced safety systems like ABS have been adapted to the needs of off-road driving. In fact, Nissan was the first to develop a 4WD with 'intelligent' ABS (ABS brakes are a standard feature on ST and Ti models).
Anti-lock Braking System
Nissan was the first to develop a 4WD with an 'Intelligent' Anti-lock Braking System that operates in all transmission modes. This helps you keep directional control when braking or turning and sends a signal to the braking system when it senses wheel lock. It also applies and releases the brakes up to 20 times per second for optimum stopping and control. The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) has a gravel sensor that actually detects what sort of surface the Patrol is travelling on and automatically adjusts itself to best handle the situation.
Four disc brakes
Every Patrol comes with large diameter ventilated disc brakes on all its wheels. This enables heat to be dissipated rapidly to improve braking action, promote less brake fade and enhance the life of your brakes.
Avoid blind spots
With its wide angle view and full colour display, Nissan Rear Park Assist (NRPA) on Ti models only helps eliminate blind spots. The camera automatically activates when reverse gear is selected – helping to prevent accidents whilst reversing.
Dual front airbags
Reduces the risk of facial and upper body injuries to the driver and passenger in the event of a frontal collision. The airbags are designed to remain inflated long enough to help provide enhanced protection. Ti models also feature the added safety of dual side airbags.
Built for safety
The Patrol has been designed with an all-steel body on a strong separate ladder chassis, including a rigid passenger safety cell. It also has reinforced B-pillars and body sills, plus steel anti-intrusion bars in both the front and rear doors. Plus doors, trims and other components are also designed to lessen the effect of primary or secondary impact.
Child safety
Handy child-proof door locks on the rear doors help stop children from accidentally opening doors whilst you're driving. There are also three child seat anchor points (two on DX models) providing additional seating flexibility. All seats in the Patrol are also made from fire retardant materials for improved safety.
Halogen headlights
Brilliant, sharp illumination for night driving to give you the reassurance and extra reaction time you need to pick out road signs or hazard warnings, especially when you're on a remote track or a lonely, unfamiliar highway.
Absorbing side structure
The strategic placement of high strength reinforcement in the cabin structure is complemented by an energy absorbing side structure. Doors, trims and other components are designed to lessen the effect of primary impact and reduce force in a secondary impact.
Theft prevention
Every Patrol comes with a Nissan Anti-Theft System (NATS). This includes an engine immobiliser to deter would-be thieves.
The Patrol DX features a 3.0 litre intercooled common-rail turbo diesel engine with 118kW of power and 380Nm of torque (manual transmission) in your choice of either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Safety features include driver and passenger front SRS airbags, Limited Slip Differential and 4 wheel ventilated disc brakes. Patrol DX exterior is robust with manual free wheeling hubs, 3,200kg braked towing capacity (manual transmission) and a 125 litre capacity (main and sub fuel tank) is ideal for traveling long distances. The interior seats 5 people and features front air-conditioning, cruise control, engine immobiliser, Bluetooth® handsfree phone system and a split folding middle-row seat with a vinyl floor covering to handle the tough Australian conditions.
The Patrol ST includes all the features of the Patrol DX shown above with the addition of an optional 4.8 litre petrol engine producing 180kW of power and 400Nm of torque in automatic only with a massive 3,500kg braked towing capacity. A 5-speed automatic transmission with M-Mode is available with the petrol engine only. Additional safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with gravel sensor while exterior enhancements include 17" alloy wheels and side steps. The interior can accommodate 7 seats thanks to side folding third row seats with moquette trim, carpet floor covering, rear air-conditioning and remote central locking. Comfort is enhanced further via a driver's seat height and lumbar adjustment, power windows, overhead console and map lights. Auto locking free wheeling hubs add convenience, while front fog lights and style and practicality.
The Patrol Ti includes all the features of the Patrol ST shown above with additional safety features including driver and front passenger SRS side impact airbags and rear view reversing camera. Exterior enhancements feature an electric sunroof. The interior is beautifully appointed with a woodgrain finish, leather trim, power front seats, automatic climate control, making even the longest journey comfortable. Also equipped with a Satellite Navigation system and 7" integrated colour dispaly with touch screen and SUNA GPS Traffic Updates™. Other features such as Bluetooth® audio connectivity, a single CD player within the colour display and MP3 compatability, help ensure maximum levels of luxury on all types of terrain.
