Tailgate glass hatch
For easy loading of smaller items into the boot there is a hand opening glass hatch in the tailgate. With the press of a button you can open the rear tailgate glass, avoiding having to open the full tailgate when not required. This is especially convenient when you are towing large items and need to access the boot, but cannot open the rear tailgate fully.
Fuel filler release
The Pathfinder's innovative keyless entry controlled fuel filler release allows you to open the fuel filler when your car is unlocked, and it automatically becomes locked when you lock your Pathfinder with the keyless entry remote.
Body coloured door handles
Door handles on all models are stylishly colour coded to the specific exterior body colour you choose (ST-L model shown).
Australia is your playground. Go explore.
Performance is where it matters when it comes to the Pathfinder, and it doesn't disappoint. Now with two engine options including the latest generation V6 common-rail turbo-diesel engine on the top of the range Ti 550 model, boasting amazing power and torque figures - 170kW of power and 550Nm of torque. Add to this an ALL MODE 4x4 system with high and low range 4WD, as well as up to 3,500kg braked towing capacity (on Ti 550 model) and your choice of manual or automatic transmissions on ST and ST-L grades (automatic only on Ti and Ti 550 models) and there's plenty to help you get out and explore the great Aussie outdoors (Ti 550 model shown).
3.0 litre V6 diesel engine
The new Pathfinder Ti 550 model adds significantly to an already strong line-up in the Pathfinder range. The new top of the range model boasts a highly advanced 6-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, featuring 170kW of power and 550Nm of torque to get you just about anywhere you want to go.
2.5 litre diesel engine
Pathfinder ST, ST-L and Ti models are equiped with the latest generation 2.5 litre 4-cylinder common-rail turbo-diesel engine, which boasts improvements to both power and torque over the previous generation. There is 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque. The good news doesn't end there, this engine also boasts significant improvements to emission levels and fuel consumption over the previous generation model.
Towing capacity
The new top of the range Ti 550 model boasts an impressive 3,500kg braked towing capacity, whilst ST, ST-L and Ti models feature a 3,000kg braked towing capacity, meaning whichever Pathfinder you choose, you can tow what you need, when you need it (Ti 550 model shown).
Fuel economy
The Ti 550 model boasts all that power and torque, but delivers a combined fuel consumption of just 9.3* litres per 100km, an amazing engineering achievement. Pathfinder's other 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine options also achieve fantastic fuel economy, including a combined fuel consumption of just 8.5* litres per 100km on the manual and 9.0* litres per 100km on the automatic. The Pathfinder's fuel tank capacity is 80 litres (*Figures have been calculated in accordance with ADR81/02. Actual fuel consumption will vary depending on driving conditions, driver behaviour, the condition of your vehicle and the accessories fitted).
ALL-MODE 4x4
Go where less capable vehicles fear to tread with the Pathfinder's ALL MODE 4x4 system, which features a 4WD lock that allows you to turn on the 4WD system to a high setting (4H), or when the going gets really tough, a low setting (4L). When you're not off the beaten track in the choice of ST, ST-l or Ti (not Ti 550), you can set the system to 2WD for maximum fuel economy. In all Pathfinder models, you can also set the system to AUTO driving mode, which continually adjusts the amount of power to each axle, providing improved traction on rough or slippery surfaces. When it senses adequate grip, the system automatically switches back to 2WD for maximum economy (use your mouse to switch the ALL MODE dial above to change between ALL MODE settings. Vehicle shown is for display purposes only).
Choice of transmission
Pathfinder automatic models feature two transmission choices. ST, ST-L and Ti models feature a 5-speed automatic transmission, whilst the Ti 550 model features a highly advanced 7-speed automatic transmission. Both automatic transmissions also offer Manual Mode (M-Mode), which enables you to select gears manually. The 6-speed manual transmission is availalble on ST and ST-L grades and features five close-ratio gears and a ‘long’ overdrive top gear for efficient cruising on the open road (Ti interior shown).
Hill Descent Control
Automatic models feature Hill Descent Control, which uses the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to apply braking pressure and keep your vehicle at approximately 8km/h as you move down a steep incline, helping you maintain control during a steep descent (vehicle shown is for display purposes only).
Hill Start Assist
Allows you to accelerate the vehicle and move uphill with ease. The brake remains engaged for a few seconds when on a steep hill while you switch your foot from brake to accelerator - helping prevent roll back (vehicle shown is for display purposes only).
Active Brake Limited Slip
Active Brake Limited Slip (ABLS) is designed to help you in slippery conditions. Without ABLS, if one wheel starts spinning, most of the power of the engine will go to that wheel and the car won't go anywhere. ABLS moderates the engine power and gently applies braking pressure to the wheel that's lost traction, allowing the power to go to the other wheels to get you moving again (Ti model shown).
Suspension
All Pathfinder models come with an independent front and rear suspension setup, resulting in a capable ride on any terrain. In the front there is a double wishbone suspension setup with coil over shocks, and in the rear, a multi-link suspension setup with coil springs (Ti model shown).
DOHC
A double overhead cam is characterised by two camshafts located within the cylinder head, one operating the inlet valves and one operating the exhaust valves.
Power steering
Rack and pinion power assisted steering improves manoeuvrability of the Pathfinder around tight corners, during city driving and when you're negotiating an off-road adventure (Ti interior shown).
Surrounding safety
The Nissan Pathfinder features the latest in safety innovations to protect you and your family. This includes Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) on all models, dual front and dual side airbags on all models, roof-mounted curtain supplemental airbags on ST-L and Ti models, reversing camera on the Ti model and much more (Ti model shown).
Vehicle Dynamic Control
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), also known as Electronic Stability Program, is an advanced standard safety feature, which helps you remain in control of your vehicle during critical situations to avoid serious accidents. The VDC system achieves this by comparing the actions of the driver with the momentary vehicle behaviour and controls the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control System (TCS) accordingly, to initiate the appropriate corrective action by selectively braking individual wheels and controlling engine power. This stabilises the vehicle and keeps it on its intended path.
Traction Control System
The Traction Control System (TCS) limits tyre slip for safer driving. When the system senses one wheel is spinning faster than the others, it automatically reduces engine power and pumps that wheel's brake to reduce speed and lessen slip.
Dual front airbags
Reduces the risk of facial and upper body injuries to the driver and front passenger in the event of a frontal collision. The airbags are designed to remain inflated long enough to help provide enhanced protection.
Dual side airbags
Side airbags are deployed in the event of a side impact to protect the driver and front passenger.
Dual curtain airbags
Furthermore, roof mounted curtain side impact supplemental airbags drop down in the event of a side impact for added head protection, including protection to the third row of seating (Ti interior shown).
Anti-lock Braking System
The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) helps you retain directional control whilst braking. It optimises braking performance by sensing wheel lock and sending a signal to the braking system to release the locked wheel. As the wheel unlocks, it can be steered. The system individually applies and releases the brakes to help provide optimum stopping and control under extreme braking situations.
Brake Assist
In emergency braking situations, Brake Assist (BA) generates extra pressure on the braking system. Brake Assist and ABS work together to give optimum control by preventing wheel lockage when braking (Ti model shown).
Brakeforce Distribution
Senses the load condition of both passengers and luggage to optimise rear brakeforce and control front and rear brake distribution. This enables safer driving, whether on your own or while carrying a full load of passengers or cargo.
Active head restraints
Front active head restraints provide additional neck protection for front seat occupants against serious injury from the effects of whiplash in the event of a rear collision (Ti interior shown).
Seatbelt pretensioners
The front seatbelts include a pretensioner and load limiter. The pretensioner uses sensors to determine the severity of a potential crash and instantly tightens accordingly. Should additional force be exerted on the seatbelt, the load limiter ensures appropriate give so as to reduce any damaging pressure on the torso of front seat occupants.
3-point seatbelts
3-point Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seatbelts are fitted as standard for all seven passengers (Ti interior shown).
Child safety
Three child seat anchorage points behind the second row add greater seating flexibility, depending on your particular needs. Child safety rear door locks also prevent children from accidentally opening the rear doors (Ti interior shown).
Four disc brakes
Heat is dissipated more rapidly to improve braking action, promote less brake fade and enhance brake life (Ti model shown).
Vehicle design
Vehicle design and ride height offer excellent visibility for improved safety. The high intensity cabin structure is designed to maintain its integrity in the event of an accident (Ti model shown).
Crumple zones
The front of the Pathfinder features a crumple zone, which helps absorb impacts. The energy-absorbing interior steering column compresses during frontal impacts to improve occupant safety significantly. The rear, inbuilt crumple zone furthermore helps absorb impact and reduce the risk of injury.
Side intrusion bars
Robust door reinforcements and an anti-intrusion door structure mean impact energy is distributed to the body side structures in the event of an accident (Ti model shown).
The Pathfinder ST features an upgraded 2.5 litre common-rail turbo-diesel engine with 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque, with your choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic transmission with M-Mode. ALL-MODE 4x4 with low range is featured on all Pathfinder models, with ST, ST-L and Ti allowing you to choose the best driving mode at the turn of a knob: 2WD, 4WD Low, 4WD High or AUTO.
