Choice of transmission

The Nissan Navara features a standard six-speed manual transmission (except ST-X 550), which has a 'long' overdrive top gear for better fuel economy and less noise. For hassle-free driving there's also the option of a five-speed automatic on ST and RX models (excluding Single Cab). The ST-X Dual Cab has the option of a five-speed automatic with Manual Mode (M-Mode) to give you the best of both worlds on demand. Drive computer

Full iPod^ connectivity

Connect your iPod^ (or USB storage device) to the USB input located in the centre console and control your iPod^ from the colour touch screen whilst your iPod^ is hidden out of site. If the digital file you are playing has album artwork attached, this will also display on the main screen. Bluetooth® phone

Available on all Navara models, the Bluetooth® handsfree phone system allows compatible mobile phone models to be connected to the Navara via a Bluetooth® connection. With ST, ST-X Dual Cab and ST-X 550 models, they offer the benefit of steering wheel controls. When a call comes in, the audio is muted and a call can be answered and ended via these steering wheel controls. Numbers can be pre-programmed into the system as well, which is again controlled via the steering wheel. (Navara ST-X 550 with Premium Option Pack shown)

Storage

To maximise space, the Navara ST-X and ST-X 550 Dual Cab's 60/40 split fold rear seat can fold up. On the versatile King Cab models, the rear seats flip up and out of the way to make room for tools and equipment. The ST-X 550 features rear under seat removable storage compartments to keep items out of the way and secure for added convenience.

There's also storage room in the large lockable double glove box, centre console (excluding Single Cab), and centre dashboard storage tray. All Nissan Navara models feature cup holders and handy door pocket storage.

Upgrade to the ST-X 550 and you'll find there are even more handy storage solutions with storage compartments with net covers under second row seats. These compartments help hide items from prying eyes, as well as being a versatile storage solution for all your work and recreational toys.

Utili-Track System

The Navara ST Dual Cab, ST-X Dual Cab and ST-X 550 Dual Cab models all feature an ingenious system Utility-Track System. The ST Dual Cab features a two-channel, whilst the ST-X Dual Cab features a five-channel system that quickly, safely and securely holds your load. Simply move the cleats along the channels to wherever you need a tie-down point. Lock them into place and you're able to carry just about any kind of load without it moving or tipping over. The Navara range is Australia's most powerful tradie, with a choice of engines: a powerful class-leading V6 turbo-diesel engine powering the Navara ST-X 550. This V6 turbo-diesel features impressive fuel economy and a massive 170kW of power and 550Nm of torque.

Other engines in the Navara range include the 140kW turbo-diesel engine in the ST-X Dual Cab and a 126kW turbo-diesel engine available in the ST-X King Cab & 4x4 RX & ST Dual Cabs. The 4x2 RX Dual Cab and 4x4 Single Cab are powered by a 106kW turbo-diesel engine. With all these choices there is sure to be a Navara to suit your needs. (ST-X 550 4x4 Dual Cab shown)

Turbo-diesel engines

No matter what the job there is a Nissan Navara to suit your needs and budget. The class leading Navara ST-X 550 produces a massive 170kW of power and 550Nm of torque with surprising fuel economy - just 9.3 litres/100km*. Whilst the Navara ST-X Dual Cab turbo-diesel not only offers an impressive 450Nm of torque and 140kW of power, but improved fuel economy and lower emissions versus the previous model. Fuel economy is just 8.5 litres/100km* for the manual and 9 litres/100km* for the automatic.

There are also two other turbo-diesel engines in the Navara range providing the fuel economy and low-down torque that diesel engines are known for. The 126kW turbo-diesel and the 106kW turbo-diesel are both very hard workers and offer outstanding value for money.

V6 turbo-diesel engine

The new Navara ST-X 550 features a 3.0 litre V6 turbo-diesel engine, which produces class-leading power and torque. No other Australian Dual Cab turbo-diesel ute can boast such figures. A huge 170kW of power and 550Nm of torque mean that no matter what the job, the Nissan Navara is up to the challenge of “Australia’s Most Powerful Tradie”.

What might surprise you is the fuel economy that can be achieved from such a powerful engine. With low emissions too, the Navara ST-X 550 consumes a combined 9.3 litres per 100 km*.

DOHC

A double overhead cam is characterised by two camshafts located within the cylinder head, one operating the inlet valves and one operating the exhaust valves.

Choice of transmission

Easily cruise the open road with the Navara's 6-speed manual transmission (not applicable to ST-X 550), featuring a 'long' overdrive top gear for better economy and less noise. Or, choose the Navara's smooth, 5-speed automatic transmission (not available on the Single Cab or ST-X 550).

The Navara ST-X Dual Cab models also features the option of a 5-speed automatic transmisison with M-mode to give you the best of both worlds on demand. 7-speed automatic

The Navara ST-X 550 features a standard 7-speed automatic transmission to harness the abundant power and torque of the V6 turbo-diesel engine to deliver optimum performance at any speed and whilst towing heavy loads.

Navara Range. Work Safe, Play Safe

If you encounter an unexpected situation you don't want to rely on luck, you want to be prepared. That's the philosophy behind Navara's extensive range of safety features.

Anti-lock Braking System

Whatever Nissan Navara model you choose, you have the assurance of an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist (BA). Combined, these two systems help you retain directional control whilst braking. It optimises braking performance by sensing wheel lock and sending a signal to the braking system to release the locked wheel. As the wheel unlocks, it can be steered. The system individually applies and releases the brakes to help provide optimum stopping and control under extreme braking situations. ABS and BA are not available on the RX Single Cab model.

Brake Assist

Brake Assist (BA) is standard across the Nissan Navara range. In emergency braking situations, Brake Assist (BA) generates extra pressure on the braking system. Brake Assist and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) work together to give optimum control by preventing wheel lockage when braking. ABS and BA are not available on the RX Single Cab model (Navara ST-X Dual Cab shown).

Vehicle Dynamic Control

The Nissan Navara ST-X and ST- Dual Cab diesel models also offer the added protection of Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Active Brake Limited Slip Differential (ABLS). VDC, also known as Electronic Stability Control, compares the intention of the driver with the current behaviour of the vehicle and selectively brakes individual wheels and controls engine power to help keep the car on its intended path and prevent roll-over.

Crumple zones

The front of the Navara features a crumple zone, which helps absorb impacts. The energy-absorbing interior steering column compresses during frontal impacts to improve occupant safety significantly. The rear, inbuilt crumple zone furthermore helps absorb impact and reduce the risk of injury.

Dual front airbags

Dual front SRS airbags are standard across the Navara model range, reducing the risk of facial and upper body injuries to the driver and passenger in the event of a frontal collision. The airbags are designed to remain inflated long enough to help provide enhanced protection.

Dual side airbags

Driver and front passenger side impact airbags are deployed in the event of side impact to protect the driver and front passenger.

Dual curtain airbags

Further to the front and side airbags offered in the Navara ST-X Dual Cab models are front to rear curtain airbgas, for extra safety.

Halogen headlights

The Navara models feature powerful halogen headlamps, which provide high power and wide illumination, meaning excellent visibility at night or in harsh conditions.

Seatbelt pretensioners

The front seatbelts include a pretensioner and load limiter. The pretensioner uses sensors to determine the severity of a potential crash and instantly tightens accordingly. Should additional force be exerted on the seatbelt, the load limiter ensures appropriate give so as to reduce any damaging pressure on the torso of front seat occupants.

Child safety

The Navara really can get your family from A to B. Three child seat anchorage points on ST-X Dual Cab models add greater seating flexibility, depending on your particular needs. The RX, ST and ST-X Dual Cab models feature child safety rear door locks, preventing children from accidentally opening the rear doors.
