Aerodynamic design
The 350Z Roadster benefits from countless hours of wind tunnel testing. The unique windscreen, roof and tailgate designs work to inhibit generation of air vortices around the rear window and maximise down force at highway speeds. By inhibiting air vortices, vibration is reduced - even at high speeds, which means that the Roadster offers an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.34Cd.
Light weight design
The mind-blowing acceleration of the 350Z Roadster is assisted by incredibly light materials in the drive shaft (carbon fibre), steering wheel (magnesium) and bonnet, suspension and engine (aluminium). The carbon-fibre composite drive shaft significantly reduces rotating weight impact. The liberal use of aluminium throughout the suspension means a 25% weight reduction versus standard materials.
Mid-ship platform
The high performance engine helps the 350Z Roadster flash through turns faster and quickly ride up to highway speed. The rear positioning of the engine (behind the front wheel axles) means weight distribution is enhanced for exquisitely balanced, precise handling.
Weight distribution
Every kilogram of the 350Z Roadster has been analysed and configured for a 53/47 weight distribution. The "up-front" engine positioning means enhanced balance when the driver enters a turn and evenly-balanced weight distribution while accelerating out of the apex. High levels of stability minimise cornering pitch, resutling in better tyre contact and improved direction.
Flat-ride concept
The wheel-centric design of the 350Z Roadster and long wheelbase result in superior cornering performance. The even weight distribution (53:47 front to rear) delivers race car balance and handling.
Wheel-oriented design
The sleek, aerodynamic design of the 350Z Roadster has an intelligently designed exterior offering a different aesthetic impression from every angle.
Headlight design
Monocle design Xenon headlights offer brilliant white light.
Wheel design

The roof is electrically folded up and down with the press of a button from the driver's seat. The roof stows compactly and completely in just 20 seconds and fits smoothly under a lightweight, hard cover.
Wiper sprayers
The wiper sprayers on 350Z Roadster feature uninterrupted sleekness and performance in wet weather and special, aerodynamically efficient wiper-sprayers. A further feature is that the wiper-sprayers are built into the wipers themselves, for better results at speed.
230kW Because We Can.
The 350Z Roadster boasts a 3.5 litre V6 engine, sleek design, dual intake system, variable valve timing system and much more, explore to see what the 350Z Roadster's performance has to offer.
3.5 V6 VQ35HR engine
Becoming a legendary part of our DNA is the Nissan V6 engine series, known as the VQ series. This engine series has been named on the 10 Best Engines list by Ward's Automotive Group for 14 years in a row (1995 - 2008), meaning it is the most awarded V6 engine series in history. The 350Z Roadster's VQ35HR engine boasts 230kW of power and a 7,500rpm redline, with a 0-100km/h time of just 5.7 seconds.
Variable Valve Timing
Off the line, a massive high-flow manifold and highly intelligent ECU manages tremendous air consumption for enormous amounts of low-end torque. As velocity is quickly found, the ECU and manifold alters the flow path for optimum consumption. Valve timing is continuously varied, to make the most of the zero to 100 blur.
6-speed manual
The sports close-ratio six-speed manual transmission on the 350Z Roadster has an incredibly short and quick throw between well-defined gates. The Z's manual transmission has a set up for close-ratio gearing from first to fifth and a tall, overdrive sixth gear (manual not available on Roadster Touring).
5-speed automatic
The smooth ease and performance of the 350Z Roadster's 5-speed automatic transmission with SynchroRev Matching includes an option for M-Mode to drive hard, your way, when you feel the inclination (auto not available on Roadster Track).
DOHC
A double overhead cam is characterised by two camshafts located within the cylinder head, one operating the inlet valves and one operating the exhaust valves.
Braking system
The Roadster Touring features massive 320mm front rotors cooled through a race car-styled air-cooling system. This reduces fade and assures smooth, predictable and efficient braking.
Brembo braking system
The Roadster Track features a Brembo Braking System, which includes front rotors that measure an amazing 324mm (over a foot) in diameter, coupled with liquid-smooth, four-piston callipers. Everything is kept cool via a unique Brembo air management system - the same type that racecar drivers count on.
Friction and weight
Micro-finishing makes the 350Z Roadster engine a power plant of epic proportions. Lesser friction means engine components spin up to speed faster. The crankshaft, camshafts and every surface that counts has been microscopically finished and finely polished.
Exhaust system
The 350Z Roadster features a large-diameter, high-flow exhaust system, finished with a high-capacity dual-outlet muffler. This incorporates all the advantages of a dual exhaust, whilst greatly reducing weight and improving undercarriage aerodynamics. This results in an exhaust system that is tuned for a wonderfully soft, burbling exhaust note.
Driveshaft
The carbon-fibre composite driveshaft on the 350Z Roadster reduces rotating weight impact significantly. It is lighter than a similar driveshaft made from steel and this weight-reduction translates to considerable performance benefits.
Aluminium suspension
Added confidence is assured through three front suspension links and four rear suspension links - as well as ripple control shocks and a separated rear shock and spring. The Multi-link suspension design on 350Z Roadster promotes camber change - whether cornering, braking or battling a stretch of abused asphalt - ensuring the wheels remain flat on the road.
Rear Differential
The Limited-Slip Rear Differential (LSD) distributes power to the rear wheel with the most traction and helps the car maintain composure and directional stability during hard cornering.
Racecar Style. Racecar Safety.
Inspired by race car safety systems, the 350Z Roadster has a high-intensity cabin structure built with cross-members and surrounding reinforcements. Front and rear crumple zones, front dual-stage SRS airbags, as well as dual side airbags offer a sound safety cell.
Vehicle Dynamic Control
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), also known as Electronic Stability Program, is an advanced safety feature, which helps you remain in control of your vehicle during critical situations to avoid serious accidents. The VDC system achieves this by comparing the actions of the driver with the momentary vehicle behaviour and controls the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control Systems (TCS) accordingly to initiate the appropriate corrective action by selectively braking individual wheels and controlling engine power. This stabilises the vehicle and keeps it on its intended path.
Traction Control System
The Traction Control System (TCS) limits tyre slip for safer driving. When the system senses one wheel is spinning faster than the others, it automatically reduces engine power and pumps that wheel's brake to reduce speed and lessen slip.
Anti-lock Braking System
The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) helps you retain directional control whilst braking. It optimises braking performance by sensing wheel lock and sending a signal to the braking system to release the locked wheel. As the wheel unlocks, it can be steered. The system individually applies and releases the brakes to help provide optimum stopping and control under extreme braking situations.
Brake Assist
In emergency braking situations, Brake Assist (BA) generates extra pressure on the braking system. Brake Assist and ABS work together to give optimum control by preventing wheel lockage when braking.
Brakeforce Distribution
Senses the load condition of both passengers and luggage to optimise rear brakeforce and control front and rear brake distribution. This enables safer driving, whether on your own or while carrying a full load of passengers or cargo.
Dual front airbags
Reduces the risk of facial and upper body injuries to the driver and passenger in the event of a frontal collision. The airbags are designed to remain inflated long enough to help provide enhanced protection.
Dual side airbags
Side airbags are deployed in the event of a side impact.
Seatbelt pretensioners
The front seatbelts include a pretensioner and load limiter. The pretensioner uses sensors to determine the severity of a potential crash and instantly tightens accordingly. Should additional force be exerted on the seatbelt, the load limiter ensures appropriate give so as to reduce any damaging pressure on the torso of front seat occupants.
Active head restraints
Provide additional neck protection for passengers against serious injury from the effects of whiplash in the event of a rear collision.
Crumple zones
The front of the 350Z Roadster features a crumple zone, which helps absorb impacts. The energy-absorbing interior steering column compresses during frontal impacts to improve occupant safety significantly. The rear, inbuilt crumple zone furthermore helps absorb impact and reduce the risk of injury.
Bonnet buckling creases
Furthermore, the bonnet is built to buckle at predetermined points. In frontal impacts, the engine is designed to drop down and away from the passenger compartment. Even the driveshaft is designed to collapse, further helping reduce risk of injury.
Side impact beams
Pipe-style, steel side-door guard beams surround the passenger compartment and help protect occupants in side impacts.
The 350Z Roadster Touring features a 3.5 litre VQ35HR DOHC 24-valve V6 all alloy engine with a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS) that pumps out 230kW of power and 358Nm of torque. Featuring either a close ratio 6-speed manual transmission (standard on Roadster Track) or a 5-speed auto transmission with M-Mode (standard on Roadster Touring). Performance is further enhanced by an electronic drive-by-wire throttle, a carbon-fibre composite driveshaft and a rear limited-slip differential. Safety features include an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BAS), as well as a Traction Control System (TCS), seatbelt pretensioners with load limiters and dual front and side SRS airbags. The 350Z Roadster’s exterior features include 18” 5-spoke alloy wheels, Xenon headlights and heated exterior mirrors. Interior features include heated 4-way power adjustable driver and 2-way power adjustable passenger leather sports seats, automatic climate control air conditioning, a BOSE® audio system, cruise control and the convenience of an electric folding soft top roof.
