Vehicle Safety Recall - R0511 & R0516 (Murano)

Nissan Motor Company (Australia) Pty Ltd is recalling the Nissan Murano vehicles listed below for rectification of the following condition:

Description of Problems
R0511: In the event of certain frontal collisions, the Outer Rear Seat Belt webbing can contact the Rear Seat Back Hinge, and there is a possibility it can be cut by the sharp edge of the metal portion of the hinge. If the webbing is completely severed, it can increase the risk of injury to an occupant in a collision.

R0516: In the event the front tyre runs over a sharp object and propels it towards the rear of the vehicle, it can potentially strike the front lower edge of the fuel tank, thus damaging it.

Affected Vehicles
The VINs of the Affected Vehicles lie within the following ranges:
R0511: JN1TANZ50A0 000007 to JN1TANZ50A0 001276
R0516: JN1TANZ50A0 000007 to JN1TANZ50A0 002631

Recommended Action
Owners of affected vehicles have been notified by mail at their last known address. Owners should contact any Nissan Dealer, to arrange for inspection and rectification of their vehicle. This will be carried out at no charge to the owner of the vehicle.

Nissan regrets the need to conduct this recall, which has been initiated in the interests of ongoing customer satisfaction and continued product reliability.
