Charging the battery.

There are 3 ways to charge the Li-ion battery. ‘Quick charge’ can take the battery to 80% charge in about 30 minutes. ‘Normal charge’ takes around 7-8 hours from empty to full and ‘Trickle charge’ takes around 14 hours*.

* Approximate times for ‘quick charge’ from a DC fast-charge station and for ‘normal charge’ and ‘trickle charge’ with a 240-V home charging dock, purchased separately.

The LEAF is almost completely silent. Besides being free from normal engine noise, the headlight lens covers redirect airflow to reduce wind noise. The car’s flat bottom surface also cuts wind resistance, while the body is designed to keep the cabin comfortably quiet. Just as it should be.

In a world without petrol, what would we do with all the bowsers?

To launch the LEAF, we asked local artist James Dive to create an interactive art installation called 'A World Without Petrol'. James transformed over 40 old petrol bowsers into fun, interactive sculptures for passers by to play with. Click on the video to see what happened.
